FINDING BALANCE: YOGA WITH JULIA MASSAGUÉ

How would you define yourself?

Optimistic, dedicated, disciplined. I feel very identified with Artemis and her independent feminine spirit. I enjoy leading an active lifestyle and invest my energy in a job that has a deep meaning for me.

How and when did you decide to make yoga your vocation?

I started practicing yoga in 2019, but it wasn't until the summer of 2020 that I discovered the Navakaraṇa method and fell in love with the practice. I trained and started teaching classes at Ma-na Yoga Loft, combining classes with my job in a multinational, and it was clear to me that someday I would leave work and dedicate myself 100% to yoga. And this change came sooner than I thought. I realized that this was what really made me happy, sharing this practice with the world and seeing people transform their body and mind. It was in the spring of 2022 when I made the decision and started my new path, and since then I work exclusively as a teacher and manager at Ma-na Yoga Loft.

What do you enjoy the most when you practice yoga?

The practice is a moment for me. To talk to my physical body, to give it the attention it needs and that we often forget. I like to see the change in my body, and it helps me to understand that progress is not lineal but that every day is different and you have to live it from acceptance.

What is your perfect time to practice yoga?

The best time for my practice is definitely in the morning. I like to wake up early, start the day slow doing things at home and, when my body feels awake, start practicing.

Are sports also part of your closet?

Sport takes up most of my closet! My style is comfortable and practical, I like to go in yoga leggings even if I'm not going to practice, and I combine it with other garments to give it a more street look.

What is your favorite garment from our Assemblage collection?

The Rodero Trench in beige.

Finally, what advice would you give to someone who is just starting out in the world of yoga?

Enjoy the journey. In yoga the goal is not to get to have that flexibility or get that posture that we see in the pictures, but to transform our body and mind to be its best version. When we do things with love, the results are incredible. For me the key is patience and dedication.
